Why regularly clean your Apollo grinder?

Through this video, I explain how to disassemble and clean the Apollo coffee grinder.
It is essential to regularly clean your coffee grinder: without this, coffee oils end up going rancid, which alters the taste of your extractions.

Regular maintenance allows you to:

  • obtain better coffee in the cup,
  • preserve the grinder's performance,
  • and, in the case of a coffee machine, extend its lifespan.

Personally, I clean my grinder approximately every 3 weeks.

The Apollo grinder from BPlus

The grinder presented in the video is the Apollo, a manual grinder previously presented and compared to my old grinder, the Kinu M47.
I will soon publish a video to share my impressions after 1 year of daily use.

Steps to disassemble and clean your Apollo

On this grinder, disassembly is simple and quick:

  1. Unscrew the two screws that hold the burr.
  2. Carefully clean all internal parts.
  3. Reassemble the grinder.
tip

Strong point: once the grinder is reassembled, it is possible to find exactly the same setting as before disassembly. Not all grinders allow this, which makes the Apollo very practical.

tip

Tip: use a dedicated brush to remove coffee residue without damaging the internal parts.
