As a lover of cooking, I have accumulated various equipment that I will present to you in a series of articles on kitchen equipment. I’m starting with my latest acquisition: the Philips Airfryer 2000 series 6.2L affiliate link.

The Philips 2000 series is the latest generation of Airfryer among the entry-level models in the range. Despite its affordable price, this series presents interesting features that we will discover in this article.

Philips’ Airfryer technology offers several advantages over a traditional oven. It allows you to fry food with up to 90% less fat, thanks to rapid circulation of hot air, while maintaining a crispy texture and even cooking. Moreover, the Airfryer heats up faster than a traditional oven and requires less energy, making it a more ecological and economical option.

The 2000 series offers good value for money with basic functionalities. It includes preset cooking programs and temperature control. Additionally, it allows you to see the food cooking through a small window.

Philips has done things well with the AirFryer. It offers an app or recipe books providing numerous ideas for cooking.

  • Frying

The pre-recorded cooking modes are integrated around the touch screen, periodically displaying the remaining time or temperature.

In addition to the preset cooking modes, a “manual” mode allows you to set the time and temperature.

Here are the controls of the Philips AirFryer 2000 series.

To cook with hot air in “fryer” mode, simply add a little oil to the food. This way, you get an appearance similar to traditional frying without immersing the food in oil. The AirFryer does indeed allow you to cook with much less fat. It is recommended to toss the fries halfway through cooking for even cooking.

Drawer of the 6.2l AirFryer model. The inner grill can be removed for thorough cleaning.

Meat cooking is very satisfying. Chicken, for example, stays juicy inside, truly excellent.

A big plus compared to previous generations of AirFryer is the drawer with a window allowing you to view the cooking progress. The light can be turned on or off using a dedicated button.

View through the AirFryer window. Really practical for monitoring food cooking without having to open the drawer.

Overall, the support for cooking with the AirFryer is well thought out. Philips’ HomeID app (available on Google Play and Apple AppStore) is well designed and offers a wide choice of recipes. User reviews help you get an idea of the dishes to prepare. You can sort recipes by ingredient, subscribe to cooks, etc. Note that since the appliance doesn’t need to be connected to the app to function, nothing requires you to use this app.

Regarding the Airfryer’s operating noise during cooking, I find it quiet. For comparison, my convection oven and the Cookeo Extra Crisp are much noisier.

If you want to add accessories to your Airfryer 2000 series, I recommend getting the XL model (6.2L) affiliate link. Accessories for the smaller model (4.2L) affiliate linkare few and far between. For a dimensional difference (LxWxH) of 368 x 273 x 293 mm for the 4.2L model and 404 x 309 x 308 mm for the 6.2L model, I advise you to favor the 6.2L model. For large families, there are even XXL models affiliate linkor dual drawer affiliate linkones.

Parchment paper for AirFryer affiliate link

The baking paper for AirFryer affiliate linkis really practical as it prevents the drawer from getting dirty and allows you to use it multiple times without having to completely clean the appliance. The advantage compared to ordinary baking paper is that it’s cut to the right dimensions.

Baking kit and silicone muffin molds for Airfryer XL affiliate link

The baking kit and silicone muffin molds for Airfryer XL affiliate linkallows you to cook small cakes, prepare small quiches, and prevent oil from dripping to the bottom of the drawer. I own the official Philips one, but there may be slightly cheaper alternatives like those suggested below.

4-piece accessory pack for AirFryer affiliate link

4-piece accessory pack for AirFryer affiliate link:

  • Muffin molds

  • Skewer kit for making skewers in the Airfryer

  • Silicone tray

  • Small cake mold

Among these accessories affiliate link, I particularly recommend the baking paper. I haven’t purchased the 4-piece accessory pack because I’m not particularly fond of cooking with silicone.

Having a Cookeo paired with its accessory: the Cookeo Extra Crisp, I wondered for a long time about the relevance of investing in an AirFryer as well. Well, I can tell you that it’s nothing alike. The AirFryer offers an infinitely more complete service than the Cookeo Extra Crisp, at a similar price nonetheless.

I don’t regret my purchase at all and can only recommend it to you. It’s one of the accessories I use regularly for cooking. I use it both as a fryer and as a mini oven. To be completely honest, apart from cooking dishes that are too large for the AirFryer, I hardly use my convection oven anymore.
